TIPS FOR CADETS

We welcome you to this new training year of 2019/2020.

If you are looking to get as much as possible out of this training year,
we have a few tips for you...

Take Notes

It's important to take notes in class. Copying word for word still increases retention! If you're up for a challenge, we suggest putting notes in your own words, this is also known as paraphrasing. Paraphrasing will help you interpret and think about the ideas rather than just letting ideas fly through. Paraphrasing is much more powerful for aiding memory compared to copying word for word.

Interact in Class

Interacting in class may spark memorable conversations that will help you and your classmates to learn more about each other and it may allow for greater clarity on a topic.

Ask Questions

Asking questions is a crucial part of learning. Doing so signifies a want for further understanding so don't be shy or afraid to do so. If you have any questions you're not comfortable asking in class please approach your instructor after classes or email us at bicknellinstructors@gmail.com

Keep a Positive Mindset

It's ALWAYS important  to keep a positive mindset for everything you do in life. This is no different for cadets, you get what you give, so keep an open mind even if it's not your favourite lesson!

Review Notes

Review your notes routinely will save you a lot of time and stress when it comes to studying for your exams. Continual revision of information will make it easier to remember when exams approach. It  will also be easier for you to apply the skills throughout the training year.

Bring up Concerns
